The Whitsunday Islands stands as a collection of continental islands of various sizes off the central coast of Queensland, Australia, situated between just south of Bowen and to the north of Mackay, that is  900 kilometers north of Brisbane. One exciting event that you might want to attend to is the Whitsunday Boat & Leisure Show that is going into its 9th year in the beautiful Whitsundays. This year the Whitsunday Boat & Leisure Show have chosen a new date that is on the 10th & 11th of September, and the venue will be in the new Port of Airlie. Government departments are represented for public education including Old Parks, GBRMPA and Maritime Safety. The event will include demonstrations, workshops, children’s entertainment, boat building competition and plenty to see and do for the weekend. The events displays will be placed inside the main exhibitions Hoecker, and outside hard stand displays of all types of boats and boating apparel and also on the water we can see some of the newest releases, or take a tour around a charter boat and plan that bareboat holiday. So it’s all going to be a whole new water experience. The activities for children includes Rock climbing wall, National Parks interactive activities, knot tying classes, cast net throwing classes, introduction to sailing classes. So there’s no much to worry for the event is sure for all ages. One could enjoy time with its family and friends while on a short stay at the island. To get there one can drive off the Bruce Highway towards Airlie Beach, upon entering Airlie Beach drive to the end of town to the new Port of Airlie site, parking will be available in the surrounding area.
