The event, having its reputation as one of the toughest outrigger canoe racing in the world, features more than 100 sprint and meduim-distance races along with a demanding 16-kilometer marathons. Never blink as you may miss the impressive sight the Island offers by presenting canoes circling Hamilton Island as they race through the Whitsundays. Its not all canoeing all day but Hamilton Island also announced the addition of the Surk Ski and Stand-up Board division in a pleasing and exciting gesture which is expected to see action in 2011.
