The nightlife in Airlie Beach is also good, with plenty of bars and clubs so you can dance the night away. A popular night spot is the M@SS Nightclub which offers live music, a bar, and food situated on an attractive outdoor boardwalk on the main street through Airlie Beach.

On the triathlon racing community’s calendar The Airlie Beach Festival of Sport is becoming one of the most awaited and one of the “not to miss” activity since time immemorial. The Airlie Beach Festival of Sport Sprint Distance Triathlon (750/20/5) attracts competitors of all abilities from around Australia and overseas. It is now becoming an excitement for everyone to watch and be part of the thirteenth annual SPORTSPOWER triathlon on September 4th this year and hopes are high for another record entry field. Once again the race, which is a Sprint Distance vent comprising a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.

The Airlie Beach Festival of Sport is fun for everyone who can run, cycle, swim or hit volleyball. The Airlie Beach Festival of Sport attracts competitors of all abilities from around Australia and overseas. Males and females are allowed to compete on equal footing with the exciting prospect for spectators of the lead male and lead female sprinting it out to the finish chute with line honours up for grabs. These is done by the format where individual women and teams making up the first wave start and given a time start over the men equal to the average difference between first male and first female over the history of the event. Aside from the fact that the activity promotes healthy life, it encourages people to improve their lifestyles and gain new friends while on the race. It is also expected that there will as usual be a sprinkling of the sports true star performers drawn from the elite ranks of the countries National Team and the Australian Institute of Sport. The Airlie Beach Triathlon has deservedly gained a reputation as the best Sprint Distance event on the Queensland.
This year will be no exception and whether you are a first time entrant, top flight elite triathlete, young or old, team or individual, Airlie Beach Lagoon will be the place to be on the weekend of 4th and 5th September this year.
